SLIDE

Moses loves his new slide that Aunt Tracy and Uncle Tim brought him. It took him a while to figure it out (at first he would try to climb back up the slide and just cry) but he finally got it, and LOVES it!

Old McDonald had a farm.......

Moses loves animals, and shares his knowledge of their language with you. We forgot to ask him what a pig says though!

We planted our little garden for FHE. We planted peas, carrots, zucchini, green onions, peppers, tomatoes, and some herbs. Just a little bit of everything (emphasis on little). Moses loved it! Although now that the planting is over he is always a little sad that he can't play in the dirt.

Saskatoon

I never thought I would say this, but here goes. "We just got back from Saskatoon, and we had a great time!" Not that there is anything wrong with Saskatoon, but I never thought we would go there, let alone have a good short vacation there.

We went for the SRPC conference. It was a conference for rural doctors and Scott was sponsored to attend. Basically that means that we had our gas, hotel room, and food completely paid for to spend 3 days in Saskatoon. It was a lot of fun. We got to visit with a lot of different doctors and some of their wives. Scott learned a lot and Moses and I did some relaxing, some swimming, and a little shopping.

The hotel was great - it looked like a castle from the outside. Here is a picture of our view from the room.

PS - This was Moses first taste of watermelon! He loves it and eats it all the time now that they are in season.

It's about Time!

FINALLY! After months of being "so close" Moses has taken his first steps. He walks quite a bit now, and I think in another month or so he will be mostly walking. Crawling is still faster and easier for him, but his little wobbly steps are so cute! Check it out!

Hair Cut Time

So we decided that it was finally time to give Moses a haircut. It was really cute long, but the poor kid had too much hair in his eyes. So Scott got out his clippers and I held Moses on my lap and we cut his hair. Let's just say hair cuts in our house are definitely a big event!

First, Moses got a mullet

Second, he had a rat tail.

Then he got really upset because of the mullet and rat tail!

Then Dad finally relented and gave into Mom and Moses' tears and threats. Dad finished his haircut and Moses was happy once all the hair was washed off and he could play in the tub!

Going to Calgary

We had a get together with all the Smith's. We drove down to Calgary and stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. We played in the pool, ate pizza, and just enjoyed eachother's company. Moses went down the water slide. But his favourite thing was the beach ball. There were some people there that had a beach ball and Moses couldn't stop looking at it and pointing. Finally his Aunt Jenni went and got him one. It made him the happiest little guy there!

The next day we went to the zoo. Moses loved looking at the animals. Right when he saw the tigers and lions he started growling! They had a playground there as well. Moses likes going down slides, but his favourite that day was the tunnel. He would crawl from one end to another over and over again just smiling at whoever he met on the other end. It was very cold that day, but it was a lot of fun!

My younger sister, Annalysa, came to visit for a few days after we came back from Mexico. We had a great time just hanging out. The day before we left we took her to eat her first donair.She said they were good, and she sure seemed enthusiastic while she was eating it!

MEXICO

We had such a fun time in Mexico. We did all kinds of wild and crazy stuff - like playing Rook! OK - we weren't really crazy, but we did do lots of fun things. We went with our friends, Jesse and Emily Leavitt. It was great. While Emily and I laid on the beach with our books or got pedicures the guys would go boogie boarding and surfing. Although Emily and I did do our fair share of boogie boarding (pictures yet to come).

Scott and I took a bus into the nearest town to shop at the outdoor flea market. In Mexico there is no bus schedule and there are no bus stops. You just walk to the edge of the highway and flag a bus down. Then, when you want to get off, you just walk to the front of the bus and the driver stops. Unfortunately, Scott and I had no idea where the market was and our driver could speak no English. Luckily there was an English speaking woman on the bus who told us that our bus had already passed the market! Needless to say we got off immediately. We only had to walk back about 6 blocks! At least we knew where our hotel was, so we knew exactly when to get off going home.

While in town, we bought a fresh coconut. There was a lady selling them at the beach. She husked it just enough to let us drink the milk, then after we finished it, she cleaned it out and let us eat the meat as well. I didn't like it, but Scott sure did! All over the flea market they were selling Lucha Libre masks (made popular by Nacho Libre). Of course the guys just had to have one. Whenever they were wearing one they just had to try crazy wrestling stunts!
