Easter

Moses really lucked out this year. He got 2 Easter egg hunts! We left for southern Alberta on Friday morning and got to Scott's sister Jenni's house around 6pm (Moses had to stop and go poop THREE times!). Scott and I planned to go looking for houses Saturday while Moses played with his cousins. It turned out that Great-Grandma Thomas was having an Easter egg hunt at her house that same day. So Jenni took Moses there. His cousins Brooke and Jaycee helped Moses find all the candy (thanks girls!). By the time we picked up Moses that afternoon, he was already really excited about the Easter Bunny and all the treats.

The next day we went out to Scott's brother Mark's house. We had a delicious Easter dinner and then we all went outside to roll eggs down the hill. (notice how windy it can be there in southern Alberta!) The rolling didn't last long before it was a contest to see how far you could throw your egg. Then all the kids decided to see how many eggs they could throw at Burke (notice the egg on the sleeve of his jacket). Moses just kept throwing the same egg over and over (he never threw it hard enough for it to break). He kept the same egg the entire time and even brought it inside with him. By the time it finally broke inside, he was so attached to it that he cried when he had to throw it away!

Monday we were home again and when Moses woke up from his nap, the Easter bunny had come! He loved finding the eggs all over the house. And then we came inside and he opened each egg one at a time and put the candy into a bowl. He wouldn't let Mom or Dad help him. He had so much fun with the easter thing that the next morning, the first thing that he said was, "Easter egg hunt?" He thought the Easter Bunny would come every time he went to bed!

Reading Books

OK - so we realize our son is a little different than most other boys his age. He doesn't climb on things, doesn't jump, and still has a hard time with stairs. But he loves to read his books! The other day the weather was nice and we wanted to go on a walk. But Moses was busy reading. We waited for a little over an hour while he read his books all by himself. Then when he was ready he finally came up to us and said, "Moses go on walk." We love him even if he is a little bit of a nerd!

THE MATCH

Match day has come and gone and we are going to Lethbridge, Alberta for the next two years! Lethbridge is about 320 miles (500 km) south of where we live now. It is pretty close to the US border. We are so excited as we will get to live close to Scott's parents when they return from their mission. Lashauna is especially excited because the winters will be much more mild than good ol' Edmonton's (BUT THE WIND!!!!). Even Moses is excited. We prayed so much and have talked so much about going to Lethbridge that if we ask him where we are going tomorrow, he will tell us,"We go to Lethrbidge!" We are excited to make this next step and are looking forward to see what residency will bring.

32 Weeks

Well, 8 weeks left! "I am getting so fat!" I tell that to Scott multiple times a day. He is so nice, he always agrees with me. Actually, he usually says, "Yeah - you're HUGE!"

It is a little embarrassing to take all these fat pictures and post them, but I like looking back at the ones I took when I was pregnant with Moses so I am sure it is all worth it.

Stickers and Tatoos

Grandma Irene sent Moses some stickers with his birthday card. He loved them so much that he just had to put them all over himself (see the arrows)!! There are even a couple on his hands and arms that you can't see in this picture.

The tattoo was a different story. He did not love that at all! He was quite upset about it that night, but the next day at church he liked it so much that he kept lifting up his shirt and showing people! I do realize it is a little questionable of a tattoo for a 2 year old to be wearing - but at least we didn't put it someplace obvious like on his arm!

Cookies!

Mose LOVES cookies. There were some in the oven and he was so excited! He looked so cute that we just had to take a picture!

28 weeks

It is always weird to look at pictures of yourself when you are pregnant. But I wouldn't want to deprive any of you from seeing me at my chubbiest! I am now 28 weeks pregnant, so I am just starting my last trimester. The countdown begins - only 12 more weeks to go!

Balloons!

I have discovered the true secret to making a two year old happy - balloons!

Happy Birthday to Moses!

Moses is TWO!!!! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Moses has grown so much in the past year. As I look at the pictures from his last birthday (click here to see last year's pictures) I can't believe how much he has grown up. He couldn't even walk then!

Moses had a great birthday. We planned a crayon birthday party. He had four friends over, and they all decorated a cardboard house with color crayons and stickers. Then we had lunch, cake, and presents. It was a lot of fun. Moses has been asking us to sing Happy Birthday to him ever since!








We opened more presents that night as a family. Thank you to Aunt Carie and family for the Hot Wheels carrier. Now Moses can keep his cars all organized and lined up like he likes!

Here is Scott just before one of his local interviews. He just got this suit for his interviews. Yeah - he looked good! He has 5 interviews total for 7 different programs. We find out March 6th where he will go. After we rank the 7 programs in the order that we like, and the programs rank their people, the computer will tell us where we are to go. We don't get any more choice or say in the matter. We find out March 6th where we will end up. The countdown has already started!
