Grocery Shopping

Yesterday was a holiday here in Canada. It was remembrance day where we remember those who fought/fight for our freedoms. We didn't do anything special... but we did spend some time enjoying those freedoms that we have. Scott had the day off and we spent the day doing things as a family. Nothing too exciting. We went to lunch in the Costco food court and then went grocery shopping as a family. It is the first time since we have been in Lethbridge that Scott had even been in the grocery store (I was a little surprised when he told me that). Because Scott doesn't get to the grocery store very often this is the first time he has seen both boys sitting in a cart together and he started taking pictures! I sometimes think it is the ordinary pictures that we overlook but are really the most precious.

Scott was right - these boys are pretty cute!

Waterslides

We went to Medicine Hat last week for Scott's teaching days. While Scott was in class, Moses, Kael and I played in the pool. It was perfect because the hotel had a slide that didn't end in a pool - meaning Moses learned to go down the slide all by himself. I could take care of Kael while Moses went down over and over and over. He looked so cute and little next to that big slide. Moses loved that slide so much.

Because he is so small,the slide would sometimes toss him around a bit. He would come around that last corner in surprising ways!

Wild West Halloween

Monday night for FHE we went to a local pumpkin patch/corn maze. We are new to the area, so we found this place online and decided to go. We checked their hours and the directions and off we went. This being a predominantly Mormon area, I thought the Monday before Halloween would be one of their busiest nights. We were surprised when we showed up and found no one there - literally. Not even the owners were around. We waited out front, looking at the sign that said they were supposed to be open, and took some pictures of the kids. Still no one came. We noticed that we could walk around into their yard and decided to check it out. There was a petting zoo and a playground a bunch of pumpkins - but no people anywhere. Kinda spooky, but we decided that since we had taken the time to get the kids into their costumes and drive all the way out there, we were going to enjoy ourselves. So we left some money by the cash register and took our kids around to look at all the animals! I think next year we will call first!

Halloween Day Scott was off work, so we spent the entire day celebrating! We carved our pumpkins that morning. We asked Moses what kind of face we should carve on our pumpkin, happy or scary... He imeadiatly intereupted and said, "Sad!" So our pumpkin has a very sad face and we named him "Sad Jack."

After nap we took the kids to the mall to do a little prelimanary trick-or-treating. Moses loved it - and it wasn't even that great!

We drove out to Scott's parent's house and took the kids to a couple houses in Glenwood. Great-Grandma had the most impressive cotume! Moses wasn't really scared of her (we had warned him that she was going to be dressed up) but he was terrified of her candy bowl!

We went back to grandma's house and ate dinner and gave out treats until it was time to go home. We had such a good time. It was fun to see Moses really getting into the holiday. Now time to start explaining Santa...

Kael can sit!

Kael can sit all by himself now! He is so cute when he sits there playing with his toys! (And yes, I realize his face is covered in drool in this picture. What can I say - Moses was worse!)

I was taking pictures of Kael and Moses started acting out - sibling rivalry starting already! So I took some of him too. Here he is cuddling up to his dinosaur!

Go fly a kite!

For FHE the other night we decided to enjoy one of the few warm fall nights and all the wind our new city provides and go fly a kite! We did it for awhile and when the wind died down we played at the park. We had so much fun! I had forgotten how much fun it could be to fly a kite.

Kael was even awake for this activity - although he still didn't get to leave his carseat!

Conference

We watched the Sunday session of General Conference at Scott's parent's house. It was fun to spend it with family. And Grandma and Grandpa provided the treats!

Moses loves his cousins. He cuddled right up to Kyle!

Scott and Kael were sleepy - it's always hard to make it through the Sunday afternoon session.

First Solid Food (besides the door!)

We realized that Kael was trying to give us a hint when he ate his door (and everything else he can get his hands on) and telling us that it was time for some solid food. So we finally gave in and started him on pablum. He seemed to like it. He didn't seem to excited about it, but he ate it without spitting it in my face so that must be a good sign. This is the first time we gave it to him, he looks like he's been eating it for months! My baby is growing up so fast...

Kael ATE his door!

Kael is growing and changing so much. He is so sweet and always so happy. He almost always has to have something in his mouth. He is getting around a little now, too. He somehow just scoots and rolls his way to where he wants to be. I laid him on the floor in his room this morning and when I came back he had crept over to his door and started chowing down. It was so funny and just SO Kael, that I had to take a picture.
